In today\u2019s day and age, we spend so much of our lives online. We know that library patrons do too so Parkland Regional Library System is happy to support member libraries in offering a wide range of e-Resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For reading on the go, patrons can access huge collections from cloudLibrary<\/a> and Libby (Overdrive)<\/a>. Both provide a great selection of e-Books, e-Audiobooks, and e-Magazines. Use desktop or an app to place holds on these books and magazines, just like you would a physical copy, and then read or listen on your phone, tablet or eReader. Read Alberta<\/a> is another fantastic place to get e-content. They provide a selection of books and magazines published in Alberta and are a great place to direct patrons interested in local titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we all love books and being able to read them in different formats, the library also offers patrons a host of other online resources. Watch videos and do tutorials on a wide variety of topics with Niche Academy<\/a>. Pressreader<\/a>, CBC Corner<\/a> and the Calgary Herald Archives<\/a> are fantastic resources for anyone looking to have free access to local, national and international news sources. Why pay the subscription fee when you can read through the library for free?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have several resources focused on accessible books and library service. The National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS)<\/a> and the Center for Equitable Library Access (CELA)<\/a> are excellent resources for patrons with print disabilities and so much more. These services really make the library accessible to everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For patrons looking to dive deeper into a topic, the Alberta Research Portal<\/a> allows access to 69 unique primary source collections, including extensive resources related to First Nations and Indigenous peoples. For those looking to find their family history, Ancestry Library Edition<\/a> is a great tool for dipping your toe into genealogy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking for grant funding? A new job? A new TV? We have e-Resources to help with it all. Grant Connect<\/a> is a one stop shop for finding grants across North America. Cypress Resume<\/a> makes resume building, cover letters and reference sheets simple with their easy-to-use templates. Consumer Reports<\/a> gives in-depth industry knowledge on (almost) any product you could think to buy, with ratings, reviews and reports all in one place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No matter what project you have in mind, it\u2019s likely that the library can help!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
