{"id":3849,"date":"2022-12-09T14:29:05","date_gmt":"2022-12-09T21:29:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/support.prl.ab.ca\/?p=3849"},"modified":"2024-01-11T14:04:33","modified_gmt":"2024-01-11T21:04:33","slug":"fundraising-on-the-fly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/support.prl.ab.ca\/index.php\/2022\/12\/09\/fundraising-on-the-fly\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Fundraising On the Fly<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Are you looking for new and unique ways to fundraise for your library, but finding that there&#8217;s just never enough time?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Amazon has a couple of options that require minimal staff time yet can offer extra funds (or supplies) to the library all year long!&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s a breakdown of how each option works:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/gp\/help\/customer\/display.html?nodeId=GHCGC7B7SQ222YMD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amazon Wishlist<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For this option the library would need to have its own Amazon account&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Once an account has been created and you&#8217;re logged in you can create a wishlist of books and other items by hovering over &#8216;Account &amp; Lists&#8217; (located in the top right of Amazon&#8217;s homescreen), click &#8216;Create a Wishlist&#8217; from the drop-down menu and you can start adding items&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>your library needs or would like<\/strong><strong> to you list!&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>\ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>If you decide to go this route, make sure to spread the word! Include a link or QR code patrons can use to access the library&#8217;s wishlist on your website and any physical posters\/signage about it so patrons can check out your wishlist and contribute&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>\ud83d\ude09<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>This initiative can be a time-limited one, if you are fundraising for time-sensitive supplies or ongoing &#8211; it&#8217;s totally up to you<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/smile.amazon.com\/charity?orig=%2Fcharity%2Fmy-impact%2Fref%3Dsmi_www_dayone_us_smilehowto_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>AmazonSmile<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>This option is for registered charities only (please check with your Consultant if you aren&#8217;t sure of your library&#8217;s charitable status)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>If your library is a registered charity, this option could be a great ongoing fundraising initiative!<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Basically, charitable organizations sign up and are provided a link that when used to buy any items from Amazon.ca (regardless of whether they are a part of a Wishlist or not) the charity receives a percentage of the funds<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Yes, you read that right!
