{"id":1548,"date":"2019-06-10T08:43:39","date_gmt":"2019-06-10T14:43:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/support.prl.ab.ca\/?p=1548"},"modified":"2019-06-10T08:43:40","modified_gmt":"2019-06-10T14:43:40","slug":"niche-academy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/support.prl.ab.ca\/index.php\/2019\/06\/10\/niche-academy\/","title":{"rendered":"Niche Academy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Parkland Regional Library will be introducing a new digital resource on <strong>June 12th<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Niche Academy provides video tutorials to help you learn and\nimprove skills, for example how to use library digital resources, social media,\nnavigate computers, and more! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This resource will have two access points. One, on the\nsupport site where library staff will access an academy customized for library\nstaff including \u201ccustomer service 101\u201d, \u201chow to deal with angry patrons\u201d, and\nof course \u201cPolaris circulation\u201d. Two, on the eLibrary page of your website,\nthis will be a link for patrons to access an academy with tutorials specific to\nthem, such as \u201cwhat is social media\u201d, \u201cinternet basics\u201d and updated\ninstructional videos on our eResources. These two academies are separate; the\npatron academy will be public while the staff academy will be private and will\nrequire an invite (look for one in your @prl email).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parkland has created promotional posters for you to print off and display (if the publisher file prints with discolor use the JPEG image). You are welcome to edit these, but please do not save over the original documents. We will also be creating social media images you can use on your own accounts.
