This includes collection and space management, reference and reader\u2019s advisory, human resources and board development support, policy development, advocacy, strategic planning, and community engagement.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h5>Library Governance<\/h5>\n<p>Public libraries in Alberta are governed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.prl.ab.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Libraries-Act-2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Libraries Act<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/support.prl.ab.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Libraries-Regulation-2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Regulation<\/em><\/a>. Municipal Council has the power to create or dissolve a municipal library board and will appoint board members.
