Polaris Upgrade Announcement

On Monday September 21st, 2020 an upgrade to Polaris will be taking place. The upgrade will begin at 6:30 AM and is expected to take approximately 2 hours. During the upgrade you will not have access to Polaris LEAP, reports, or the Patron Access Catalogue (PAC).

Notable Enhancements in this Upgrade:

  • Cancelling hold requests with a “shipped” status.
    • Both staff and patrons will have the ability to cancel a hold request that has already been transferred to the pick-up location. If the hold in question is cancelled, it will remain in-transit until the item is checked-in. At that point it will route back to the originating library or get trapped to fill another patron’s request.
  • Mailing Notices
    • You can now generate “print” notices and print them directly within LEAP. This can be done for the following “print” notice types; Overdue and billing, holds, fines, etc.
  • Patron “My Lists”
    • In the PAC under the “My account” tab, “My Lists” now appears in the drop-down navigation menu.

An announcement will be sent out after the upgrade is complete, along with any instructions or other notes pertaining to the new enhancements.
