Parkland has launched a brand new newsletter with a focus on Collections and Programming news. Libraries in Focus was selected as the name after a naming contest was held in April! We had plenty of good name suggestions but this one won out by a single vote.
In every edition of Libraries in Focus, you will see three things:
- Collections News
- We will share news about book awards, interesting upcoming titles, ways to flush out your collections, books by local authors, suggested titles to feature for themed events, and more.
- Programming News
- Every time we create a new programming kit, you’ll hear about it here! This includes tech kits, program kits, book club kits and everything else related to programming. You’ll be able to find workshops, news about summer reading club, and more.
- Libraries Doing Cool Things
- Every month we will feature a cool and nifty thing that one of our member libraries is doing in their space. What better way to get inspire than to see what other libraries in the region are doing?! If you’d like to be featured in this section, please reach out to Patty at pmorrison@prl.ab.ca or Paige at pmueller@prl.ab.ca.
Since this is a new newsletter that we haven’t done before, we’re looking for suggestions on the kind of content you would like to see! Please reach out to us if you have ideas for the newsletter or if you would like to be added to the mailing list.
Libraries in Focus will be sent out on the third Wednesday of every month!
