Indigenous Sharing Circle Gathering (In-Person)
March 23 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
We would like to invite you to register for the first Indigenous Sharing Circle Gathering of the year, hosted by the wonderful Maria Buffalo and Billy Bruno in Maskwacis. This will be a full day of in-person learning at the Howard Buffalo Memorial Centre in Maskwacis on Monday, March 23 from 10am – 3pm.
As Maria and Billy have been planning for this event, it has blossomed into an interactive sharing circle of knowledge where topics will be shared that are valuable for any library staff member. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone and everyone working in libraries to learn about Indigenous cultures, Truth & Reconciliation, protocol, ask questions, and be a part of this important conversation and relationship-building.
In addition to a sharing and learning circle, there will also be a tour of the Museum & Archives in Maskwacis as part of the day. Lunch and snacks will be provided for this full day event.
The registration for this event will be capped at 24 people, on a first come, first served basis. There will also be a waitlist for this event so if you are unable to attend but have registered, please let Paige know at pmueller@prl.ab.ca so that someone else can take your spot and benefit from the training. Maria and Billy will be hosting another Sharing Circle Gathering in Maskwacis on October 2, so if you don’t get a spot in March, you will have another chance to attend later in the year.
Due to the limited space in this program, we ask that no more than two people per library register.

The registration deadline will be February 23, 2026.
Please Note: This event will be happening in person only and will not be recorded. To be respectful and create an environment for learning and sharing, attendees should plan to attend the entire event.
