Did you know that Parkland can assist you with your strategic plan? Your strategic plan or “plan of service” as we refer to it in library world, is a provincially required document outlining your library’s strategy for growth over the next five years. Creating your strategic plan should push your library out of its comfort zone, if you’re doing it right. Libraries should be asking themselves, “what should we be doing that we’re presently not doing?”, “what does our community need from us?”, or “what are the service gaps in our community that we, as the library, could fill?”
If you’re not sure where to start, reach out to your Consultant at Parkland. We can help you and your board take a step back and assess the needs of your community and see how the library can help. Once you decide on what your growth strategy will be over the next five years, we can even help you draft your Plan of Service.
