This year more than 1000 public libraries across Canada are getting together for the national bilingual digital book club, One eRead, from April 1 to 30, 2022. A Canada-wide team of librarians recommended a variety of titles and Tatouine by Jean-Christophe Réhel came out as the top choice.
A powerful intergenerational family saga, Tatouine showcases Jean-Christophe Réhel’s rich writing talent as an exciting new voice in Canadian literature. Tatouine takes readers on an off-beat and often hilarious journey, as we follow our unnamed from a basement apartment in a Montreal suburb to a new life on a fictional planet. To avoid spoilers, that’s all we’ll divulge in anticipation of you reading and enjoying the book yourself!
If you’re in a book club and are looking for a book to suggest, Tatouine is a great option because all month long, you will be able to download the book in digital format without any waitlists through participating libraries! Also, you’ll be able to enhance your book-reading experience by attending the live virtual conversation, on April 19 and April 25. We’ll be chatting about the book with book-loving hosts from CBC/Radio-Canada, our official media partner.
Join the Facebook group and follow One eRead Canada on Twitter @1eRead_unLivrel to chat about the book with other people across Canada who are also reading Tatouine. Mark your calendar to borrow the eBook as soon as April starts and to be in the know during the live events because One eRead will be here soon!
