Summer Reading Club is looming and libraries across the country are re-imagining what this programming can look like in a physically distanced, no-personal-contact world. Staff at member libraries and Parkland headquarters are working together, within and outside our system, to explore innovative ways of engaging children and keeping up their reading skills with so many restrictions in place.
As our parks and recreational facilities struggle with the same constraints under this public health emergency, we have options to broaden our partnerships while we develop different kinds of programming. This post on the National Recreation and Park Association blog presents several examples of libraries collaborating with parks and recreation during the current pandemic.
