Answers to common questions about our new eContent

Since we added Ancestry Library Edition, Solaro, and Consumer Reports to our digital content we’ve been hearing lots of great feedback! We’ve also been hearing about a few issues that patrons are running into with using the products. Here are some quick answers:

Solaro:
When adding a course to your account there’s a large box asking for a license key. Patrons can ignore this and go straight to choosing their region and grade. After they do that the available courses will appear on the screen.

Consumer Reports:
Because our access is through a general library account and not as individual subscriber some of the options on the site are not going to be as useful as they can be for an individual member. Tests, car recall trackers, and the other options in the ‘My Benefits’ section will often already be filled out, but patrons can still add their own information, except for the tests, which can only be filled out once.

Ancestry Library Edition:
In order to access Ancestry patrons need to be in the library and using the link on your website rather than going to Ancestry.com. The link on the website goes to a different address!
