Annual Report Workshop
January 26 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
It’s Annual Report time of year again, and we’d like to invite you to join us for our annual Annual Report Workshop, being held in-person at the Parkland Office (4565 46 Street, Lacombe) on Monday, January 26th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
If this is your first time completing the report and/or you’d like a quiet place (with snacks!) to work on it, please consider attending. Olya and Jessica will be on hand at the workshop to answer questions and assist you.
Our aim with this workshop is that attendees can come away with a completed/nearly completed report ready for Board approval.
Here is the link to register: https://parklandab.wufoo.com/forms/z1hj53j00jhhfam/. Registration will be open until end of day on Friday, January 23rd.
**Please Note: Once you register, we will send you the Annual Report Workshop calendar event.
Important Annual Report Information:
-
You will need a LibPAS login in order to submit your annual report. If you aren’t sure whether or not you have one, please email Jen Pringle at jen.pringle@gov.ab.ca to confirm/get set up with access.
-
The annual report is a yearly report to the Minister of Municipal Affairs about the governance and activities of your library board and the public libraries it operates. It is legislatively required through section 15 of the Alberta Libraries Regulation, which states “A municipal library board or intermunicipal library board shall annually complete and file with the Minister a report in a form and containing the information required by the Minister.” It is also a component of the library board’s annual public library operating grant application. It must be submitted to PLSB for your board to be considered eligible for the funding.
-
All Alberta public library annual reports are due to the Public Library Services Branch (PLSB) by February 28th each year.
-
If you are unable to make it to the workshop, please take some time to watch the “Intro to the Survey & Annual Report Video Guide” and the “Survey and Annual Report Walkthrough Video Guide.” Both are available from the landing screen at ab.countingopinions.com once you log in, along with other documents to assist you.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Consultant Librarian if you have questions about the Annual Report or would like support with its completion.
