Are you looking for new and unique ways to fundraise for your library, but finding that there’s just never enough time?
Amazon has a couple of options that require minimal staff time yet can offer extra funds (or supplies) to the library all year long!
Here’s a breakdown of how each option works:
- For this option the library would need to have its own Amazon account
- Once an account has been created and you’re logged in you can create a wishlist of books and other items by hovering over ‘Account & Lists’ (located in the top right of Amazon’s homescreen), click ‘Create a Wishlist’ from the drop-down menu and you can start adding items your library needs or would like to you list! 🙂
- If you decide to go this route, make sure to spread the word! Include a link or QR code patrons can use to access the library’s wishlist on your website and any physical posters/signage about it so patrons can check out your wishlist and contribute 😉
- This initiative can be a time-limited one, if you are fundraising for time-sensitive supplies or ongoing – it’s totally up to you
- This option is for registered charities only (please check with your Consultant if you aren’t sure of your library’s charitable status)
- If your library is a registered charity, this option could be a great ongoing fundraising initiative!
- Basically, charitable organizations sign up and are provided a link that when used to buy any items from Amazon.ca (regardless of whether they are a part of a Wishlist or not) the charity receives a percentage of the funds
- Yes, you read that right! If a patron uses the library’s AmazonSmile link to purchase anything the library will receive a portion of those funds 😄
