Library Management & Operations Support
Consultant Librarians provide professional support to library staff and trustees in all areas of managing a public library. This includes collection and space management, reference and reader’s advisory, human resources and board development support, policy development, advocacy, strategic planning, and community engagement.
Library Governance
Public libraries in Alberta are governed by the Libraries Act and Regulation. Municipal Council has the power to create or dissolve a municipal library board and will appoint board members. Once created, the Library Board is an independent body that has full powers of governance and fiscal responsibility for the public library.
