At the Alberta Library Conference 2019: Find a way, PRL consultant Andrea attended some unique sessions. Her personal favourite was the Saturday Keynote – Terry O’Reilly.
He focused on the importance of storytelling to reach people and evoke empathy. He stressed that stories can be new or old, it really doesn’t matter. People remember stories. It’s important for library professionals to use stories when we discuss what we do. The truth is, stories have impact.
You can find Terry O’Reilly on CBC Radio. He has a regular podcast titled “Under the Influence”: https://www.cbc.ca/radio/podcasts/arts-culture/under-the-influence/
